Speaker: CPA Professional Standards Team

Audit Webinar Bundle

With the 2018 audit season in full swing, these audit webinars explore the audit process from the initial engagement and acceptance stage, through planning and finally to the audit report, and will assist audit firms with the fine tuning of their audit process.

The ISAs (Ireland) are mandatory for use in auditing statutory financial statements of Irish companies with periods beginning on or after 17th June 2016. The series of webinars will highlight the main differences between the ISAs (UK and Ireland) and the new auditing framework, ISAs (Ireland).

Webinar 1 – Audit Engagement and Audit Planning - 10th May 2018 - NEW DATE!
A well designed system of policies and procedures to manage the initial engagement, continuance and planning phases of an audit assignment provide a solid basis for the conduct of efficient and effective audits and for the delivery of appropriate audit reports.

This webinar explores the audit engagement and planning phases of the audit of financial statements.

Webinar 2 – Audit Execution – 16th May 2018
The second webinar explores the execution phase of the audit process. The execution phase of the audit puts the plan into action and comprises the actual fieldwork. The module will explore the requirements of the following standards;

  • ISA 500, Audit evidence
  • ISA 501, Audit evidence – specific considerations for selected items

Webinar 3 – Audit Completion – 23rd May 2018
The third webinar explores the procedures that the auditor must establish as the audit completion stage is arrived at. The gathering of audit evidence is for the most part completed and the auditor will collate and assess what has been gathered before arriving at the final conclusion. This module will explore the following auditing standards in particular;

  • Going concern – ISA 570
  • Subsequent Events – ISA 560
  • Related party transactions – ISA 550
  • Analytical procedures – ISA 520
  • Written representations – ISA 580
  • Communicating deficiencies in internal control to those charged with governance – ISA 265

Webinar 4 – Audit Reporting – 30th May 2018
The course will examine the constituents of the statutory audit report in Ireland and is a designed to assist auditors when faced with the challenge of formulating an audit opinion.
It will also examine circumstances where the auditor believes that the financial statements do not show a true and fair view or where the auditor cannot make such a determination. How should the auditor then report the circumstances, what standards should they follow and how should they ensure that the users of the financial statements will understand their opinion?
