This practical audit workshop will explore the key elements of the audit process from the initial engagement and acceptance stage, through planning and finally to the issue of the audit report. It will do so in a practical manner providing useful templates and guidance to auditors and their staff.

The course will be delivered by CPA Ireland’s Quality Assurance staff who can offer a unique insight into the do’s and don’ts of the audit file and will address the key findings from quality assurance reviews. This course will be delivered focusing on the new audit framework, ISAs(Ireland).

The course will cover the key essentials of the audit process and a particular focus will be on getting the balance of documentation right and will cover;

• Accepting and Planning the Audit - exploring the audit engagement and planning phases of the audit of financial statements.
• Audit Execution and Documentation - the execution phase of the audit puts the plan into action and comprises the actual fieldwork. A particular challenge at this phase is the ensuring that the level of documentation is adequate.
• Audit Completion - this explores the procedures that the auditor must establish as the audit completion stage is arrived at.
• Audit Reporting - the key elements of the statutory audit report in Ireland will be examined.
