Advising on Non-Financial Aspects of Retirement

Speaker: Derek Bell, Retirement Planning Council of Ireland

Overview

Retirement comes to us all at some stage, sometimes because we have reached a significant birthday, sometimes because of ill health or earlier than anticipated because of organisational restructuring.  The first thought in most people’s minds is “Will I have enough money to last me in my retirement”.  Of course, the great unknown is that no one knows their own life expectancy! As a trusted advisor for your clients, you are uniquely placed to give good counsel in relation to the financial and non-financial aspects of retirement. This Webinar mainly focuses on non-financial aspects of retirement.

Before attending our Planning for Retirement Courses 44% of attendees were worried about retirement and 65% of attendees were concerned about managing financially. After completing a RPCI training course 95% were excited and optimistic about retirement and only 25% were concerned about financial issues.

Course Aim

This one-hour webinar will provide attendees with tips and advice to give to clients regarding the non-financial aspects of retirement to assist the transition from the world of work to the next stage of living.  As life expectancy increases the length of time in retirement may be in excess of 30 years, or almost as long as the time spent working.

Content

  • What changes for the individual
  • What changes for the retiree’s family and friends
