Law & Regulation Webinar Bundle (3 Webinars)

Speaker: Keith Rooney BL

Keith Rooney, BL, will deliver this 3 part webinar series covering the lates updates in Law & Regulation:

1. 7th November: Charities Regulator - Developments in Regulation post-Concern

Since the advent of the Charities Act, 2009 there has been a slow development in how the Regulator has begun to implement charities law. Recent scandals in the charities sector have seen a growth in activism by the Regulator and in this Webinar we will look at how the regulatory framework has grown over recent years with particular emphasis on the manner in which the Regulator themselves have chosen to approach the sector.

2. 14th November: Companies Act 2017 - New Thresholds and New Implications for Companies

Bringing Ireland into line with the general European framework for company sizes, the Companies Act 2017 presents new opportunities for previously small and medium sized companies to avail of audit and reporting standards previously restricted to other company forms. In this Webinar we will look at the new thresholds and the various amendments to the Audit and Accounting requirements for companies in light of this Act.

3. 21st November: Protected Disclosures

Since the introduction of the Protected Disclosures Act 2014 the protections afforded to employees in reporting a myriad of behaviours has been greatly expanded. Both employers and employees must be aware of the scope of this Act and the broad range of actions - from criminal misbehaviour to failure to comply with a legal obligation - that fall within its scope. In this Webinar we will discuss how the Act protects disclosures and the consequences that can befall an employer should they seek to take action against a whistleblower.
