This online course will enable learners to use this new Excel add in to analyse millions of rows of data, which was not previously possible in Excel, and use DAX functions to carry out powerful calculations across data sets. The Power of BI and data analysis is now in the hand of the Excel User!

Power Pivot 2010 is the first part of Microsoft Self Service Business Intelligence suite of add ins for MS Excel. It can be used inside of Excel by any Excel user.

COURSE SUMMARY

Power Pivot is an Excel add-in, available in Excel 2010 and certain versions of Excel 2013. You can use Power Pivot, with its own DAX functions to perform powerful data analysis and create sophisticated data models. With Power Pivot, you can mash up large volumes of data from various sources, perform information analysis rapidly, and share insights easily.

CONTENTS AND OVERVIEW

In section one of this course we will start at the very basics and learn how to set up and import data to Power Pivot. In this section you will find sample data to download, so you can practice along.

Section two and three will cover the basic elements of Power Pivot such as tables, table relationships, calculated columns slicers and measures.

Once we are working well with these basic's we are going to power things up using DAX functions. DAX functions such as the Calculate function, Filter and Distinct will give you greater debt to your analysis.

Finally we will look in detail at the Time intelligence functions Power Pivot has to offer.
