Maureen joined Mazars in 2019 and was appointed as Statutory Inspector under the Charities Act 2009 to investigate the affairs of charities on behalf of the Charities Regulatory Authority in Ireland. She is lead investigator in respect of a range of Protected Disclosure investigations originating from the OGP framework on behalf of Government Departments and other public sector bodies, including investigations into financial, corporate governance, procurement, fraud, conflicts of interest, health & safety and human resource based investigations along with reviews of other investigations carried out under this legislation. She has also led the corporate governance review of a national representative organisation and led the fraud risk and forensic review of procedures in a statutory regulatory organisation.
She has significant experience in corporate governance, financial reporting and legislative requirements for national organisations and has over 13 years’ experience working in the charitable sector in Ireland at a local and national level and has advised and supported small to large charitable organisations on internal financial controls, financial reporting, corporate governance and health and safety procedures.
