EU Green Taxonomy

The EU taxonomy is a classification system, establishing a list of environmentally sustainable economic activities. It is intended to facilitate a significant increase in sustainable investment within the EU and the implementation of the European green deal. The EU taxonomy provides companies, investors and policymakers with appropriate definitions of environmentally sustainable economic activities. The taxonomy will be implemented in over 49,000 companies across the EU from January 2024. The European Commission has indicated the intention to extend this reporting requirement a much wider range of companies, ultimately including SMEs, with suggestions it may take place as soon as 2026.
