How’s did your last new year’s resolution go?
Did you manage to change that important health behaviour? Did you start that self-care routine like meditation or exercise? Did you finally start that course you be considering for years? We all want to be better. But sometimes we don’t feel like doing the things we need to do to get there.
Your wellbeing -i.e. our physical and mental health is the foundation on which you professional performance and developmental re built on. It’s difficult to perform optimally at work, or focus on your professional development, if the basic habits of wellbeing such as exercise, healthy diet, and self care are not in place. Similarly, development often means developing the habit of working on your new skill regularly.
This talk is not about exercise routines, nutrition or mental health – but rather on how to begin and maintain the wellbeing behaviours, habits and mindset that allow you to thrive.
Often, we start with good intentions. We are motivated, determined and prepare. We join the gym. We research the diet plan. We sign up for a course. And then we fall at the last hurdle, or fail to follow through.
And then we feel guilty, or worse, shame. Our confidence drops, our self-belief shatters.
But we rarely focus on that key decision point – that moment when we decide if we’re actually going to do that thing we’ve talked so much about doing!
This workshop is designed to help people who want to change behaviours and leverage what’s inside them to reach their goals.
Attendees will learn
· How to set goals so that they help (not hinder) our confidence, motivation and how we feel.
· How habits motivate and demotivate us, and why ‘beating ourselves up’ about not doing something rarely helps.
· How to leverage internal motivation in order to feel more motivated and start making progress
