Speaker Bio

Gearóid O'Sullivan is the Institute's Tax Leader and is responsible for driving tax policy within the Institute.

Méabh O'Grady has over 13 years’ experience working within the area of finance in industry and practice. She is currently a Senior Manager in the Corporate and International Tax team in Deloitte, advising companies on M&A and tax compliance-related activities. Méabh has a particular focus on foreign direct investment and has a keen interest in the ever-evolving international tax landscape. She holds a bachelor's degree in law and a Master’s in Tax, both from the University of Limerick. Méabh is a qualified chartered accountant with Chartered Accountants Ireland and a qualified chartered tax adviser with the Irish Tax Institute.

Finnian O’Sullivan is a director with Grant Thornton’s International Tax team. He has extensive experience advising both corporate and private clients. Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2021, he worked with one of Ireland’s leading specialist tax advisory firms and with a Big 4 firm. He provides tax compliance and advisory services to domestic and international groups of various sizes. He advises clients on numerous matters, including foreign direct investment into Ireland, due diligence projects, business sales, business acquisitions, restructurings, and Revenue interventions. Finnian works with a diverse range of clients, including those in the real estate, medical, technology, and FMCG sectors.

Maura Ginty set up her own tax advisory firm, Gintax, in 2020 – focused on Irish private business, from the startup tech sector to well-established family-owned operations. Prior to starting Gintax, Maura worked for KPMG for over 16 years, from the graduate program to director, servicing a range of clients from multinationals to family offices.

Conor Kennedy is a practising Barrister and Chartered Tax Adviser and a former Tax Appeals Commissioner, having presided over tax disputes valued in excess of €2.5 billion. Conor is now with EY Law Ireland, responsible for Tax Strategy and Disputes.

Dr. Stephen Daly is a Reader in Tax Law at King’s College London and a visiting lecturer at Imperial College London. He is a graduate of University College Cork, University College London, and the University of Oxford. His research focuses on the rules governing tax administration, the relationship between taxation and anti-subsidy rules, and the role tax plays in shaping society.
