This course will be delivered via Zoom on the 4 March 2026. The Zoom link will be emailed to participants the day before the course is due to take place.
Who should attend
This course is aimed at those who have an intermediate level of Excel, or above, and are now interested in developing their skills further to enable them to create, develop and effectively use financial modelling skills and analysis to add more value in their roles. The course will be of particular relevance to those working in, or seeking to move into, the area of financial planning and analysis, business partnering and related areas.

Model Design and Pitfalls - Key variables and rules

End result of the model and the layout in designing an error-free financial models

Building the Model - Sales, Cost of Sales, Payroll, Overheads, Fixed Assets, Working Capital

Key report generation (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) from linked sheets

Compilation of operational KPI's including graphical representation where appropriate

Key reporting dashboard

The use of Scenario Manager

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

Gain an overview of the modelling process, including the pitfalls, as well as gains

Microsoft Office/ Apps Version
Participants should have a Microsoft 365 subscription but supported older desktop versions are workable.
Microsoft Excel 365 for Mac has some incompatibilities with Windows and certain features are not available. Contact us before booking if you are in any doubt about your setup.
We prepare the files and deliver the course using Windows 11 but Windows 10 on Extended Support is fine.
This allows better viewing of the trainer's screen and relevant Microsoft 365 application or AI site. If you only have a single screen, please inform us prior to the course.
