Speaker Bios

Brian Murphy, Partner Lead - Ireland’s Best Managed Companies Programme, Partner - Audit & Assurance, Consumer & Technology Business
Brian is a Partner with Deloitte in Dublin. He has extensive experience in audit and assurance, working with a broad range of clients across various industries. Brian, a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland, has particular expertise in IFRS, Irish GAAP, and sustainability reporting. Brian is past chair of the Chartered Accountants Ireland Leinster Society and a council member of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Lisa Campbell, Head of Operations IAASA

Lisa is responsible for Assurance Quality Supervision, Corporate Reporting Supervision and Professional Bodies Supervision. Lisa is a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and holds an MSc in Business and Leadership from University College Dublin. Lisa joined IAASA in 2015 after spending 12 years with PwC providing audit services. Lisa also acted as examiner and moderator for Chartered Accountants Ireland for several years, in the Auditing Cap 2 exam, the Auditing FAE Elective, and FAE Core examination. Lisa is also the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of the National Council of Special Education and a member of the Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board.

Louise Gorman – Assistant Professor in Finance at Trinity College Dublin
With over ten years’ experience as a university lecturer, one of Louise’s key qualifications is in teaching, learning and assessment in the areas of accounting, finance, corporate governance and more recently, sustainability reporting and sustainable finance. Louise currently works primarily with Masters, MBA, Professional Accountants and other executive learners. As part of her roles with Chartered Accountants Ireland and Trinity College Dublin, and previously with TU Dublin, Louise has also gained extensive experience in the development of programmes for professional learners and has recently developed programmes in sustainable finance and sustainability reporting. As director of the Trinity Business School MSc Finance Programme, ranked within the top 30 globally by the Financial Times, Louise has considerable experience in liaising with, and leading, learners and educators. Louise’s role also involves a significant amount of academic research. She has published her work in top-ranked journals and professional publications and also regularly presents her findings at academic and practitioner events.

Conal Kennedy, Executive Head of Technical Advocacy, Members and Advocacy
Conal is Executive Head of Technical Advocacy, responsible for coordinating the Institute’s advocacy strategy across a broad range of technical areas including financial reporting, audit, sustainability, ethics and governance. Prior to this he was Head of Practice Consulting, providing advice and support to members in practice throughout Ireland. Conal coached and advised many practices through major change events such as mergers, acquisitions and retirements as well as ethical dilemmas. With the team, he developed and delivered a series of technical and practice advisory webinars. Before joining the Institute Conal held a number of roles in practice, including founding and running his own firm.

Maeve Hunt, Director - Audit and Insurance, Grant Thornton
Maeve has extensive experience in audit and assurance, working with clients across a variety of industries. Maeve, a member of Chartered Accountants Ireland, has particular expertise in financial reporting, audit regulation, and sustainability assurance. Maeve is past chair of the Chartered Accountants Ireland Ulster Society and a council member of Chartered Accountants Ireland.
